Never have my senses been more wonderfully drenched than when sketching and painting in Honk Kong. The Soho district is a melting pot of vibrant colours, pungent smells and dizzy noise. I was there long enough to blend in and befriend the people whose portraits and postures I was painting. We drank orange juice together and compared artwork. And they kindly took pity on this total stranger, lending me hats and visors to protect the pale, auburn haired girl sat in the midday Hong Kong sun. Many words were exchanged. None were understood. But we’d end our days content in each other’s company, a myriad happy memories.
